In September 2026 Sam Smith plays ten UK shows as part of their global To Be Free residencies: two nights at Manchester's Albert Hall (3 and 4 September) and eight nights at the London Coliseum (8 to 19 September). Sam Smith plays ten UK residency shows in September 2026: Manchester's Albert Hall on 3 and 4 September, and the London Coliseum on 8, 9, 11, 12, 15, 16, 18 and 19 September.

A few practical notes. The Manchester shows are standing format, restricted to ages 14 and over, running 7pm to 11pm, per the venue's own listing. The London Coliseum shows are in a seated Edwardian theatre with four levels (Stalls, Dress Circle, Upper Circle and Balcony), and the venue caps sales at four tickets per household per show. To Be Free is the name Sam Smith has given to a series of multi-night residencies around the world, in place of a conventional arena tour. The UK leg is the fourth: it follows Brooklyn in autumn 2025, San Francisco in early 2026, and Mexico, whose shows take place in August 2026, just before the UK run.

The format has a clear track record. The New York residency at Warsaw, a storied Brooklyn venue, was announced as 12 nights; the original dates reportedly sold out immediately (as covered at the time), and the run was extended to 24 nights between October and December 2025. San Francisco's leg at the newly restored Castro Theatre was announced as 8 shows and grew to a 20-show run across February and March 2026. Earlier residency nights have also produced surprise guest moments, with Ed Sheeran, Brandi Carlile and Kim Petras among those who joined Sam on stage in Brooklyn and San Francisco. No guests are announced for the UK, and none should be assumed.

Next comes Mexico: Guadalajara's Auditorio Telmex on 14 August, then four nights at Mexico City's Auditorio Nacional on 17, 18, 20 and 21 August 2026. Those shows are still to come at the time of writing; the final Mexico City night falls on 21 August 2026, the day Hazel Eyes is released, which makes the UK residency the first full leg to be played with the album out.

Then the UK. The London Coliseum, home of English National Opera, seats 2,359 people, one of the largest theatre auditoriums in the West End yet a fraction of the size of the arenas Sam played in 2023. That contrast is the whole point of this era: an intimate room, a run of nights rather than a one-off, and the voice front and centre. To Be Free is also a song: it closes Hazel Eyes as track 12, having first been released in 2025.

There is no official running time published for the UK shows. At the earlier To Be Free residencies, sets averaged 18 songs and usually ran without an encore, which points to a substantial full evening rather than a short set.
