Ashes 2027 hospitality at the Utilita Bowl in West End, Southampton, is a hosted day at the first men's Ashes Test ever staged at the ground. The Ashes 2027 Southampton Test is England v Australia, the 4th Rothesay Ashes Test, set for Wednesday 21 to Sunday 25 July 2027. Play is scheduled to start at 11am. The venue releases its own hospitality for the Test to its Commercial Partners first and 2026 hospitality bookers second, with any remaining packages then going on general sale.

What does Ashes Test hospitality include?

A hospitality day at an English Test ground, Ashes Tests among them, usually covers a welcome drink or a light breakfast on arrival, lunch, something at tea and a reserved seat with a view of play. Many packages add an inclusive bar. At the Utilita Bowl, a package that includes parking gives one pass for every four guests. Alcohol is served to over-18s only, and ID may be required. Inclusions vary by package.

How does the Utilita Bowl release hospitality for the Southampton Test?

The Utilita Bowl releases hospitality for the Ashes 2027 Southampton Test in three steps, starting with its Commercial Partners and ending with general sale. The middle step goes to 2026 hospitality bookers: the venue's hospitality page told people booking their 2026 hospitality that they would "get priority access for hospitality at The Ashes 2027". The order applies to hospitality the venue sells.

  1. The venue's Commercial Partners.
  2. 2026 hospitality bookers.
  3. General sale of any remaining packages.

How is hospitality different from the ballot?

Hospitality and the ballot are separate routes into the Ashes 2027 Southampton Test. The venue's terms treat part of every hospitality booking made with the Utilita Bowl as admission, valued at a gold admission ticket for that matchday. The route to match tickets started with the venue's own free ticket ballot, which our Ashes 2027 tickets guide explains in full.

Which hospitality space suits your group?

At the Utilita Bowl, the five Executive Boxes in the Shane Warne Stand fill with hospitality guests on matchdays, and the venue says a pair of them can be joined into one room for up to 30 guests at a private dinner or conference. For a group happy to share the room with other parties, the venue's own range also includes shared suites.

The Utilita Bowl venue guide lists the ground's named suites and boxes. Choosing which of the five days to attend is a separate decision, and the Southampton Test page maps each day from Wednesday 21 to Sunday 25 July 2027.

What should you wear to Ashes hospitality at the Utilita Bowl?

Smart casual is the dress code in every hospitality area at the Utilita Bowl. Running trainers, flip-flops, sportswear and ripped jeans are not permitted, although Hampshire merchandise is exempt from the sportswear rule. Tailored shorts are allowed. The venue says guests who do not follow the code can be refused access to the hospitality area.

What happens to hospitality if rain stops play?

If rain stops play at the Utilita Bowl, any weather refund on hospitality booked with the venue covers only the admission part of the booking, valued at a gold admission ticket for that day. Nothing is refunded for the hospitality element. Refunds go to the original booker, and any deposit paid to the venue is non-refundable. The umpires, not venue staff, decide whether rain delays or ends play.

Weather and early-finish terms depend on the hospitality package, so check them before you book. The Test match timings guide covers how lost time is made up, on the day and on later days of the Test.

When does hospitality open and close on a Test day?

On England international days at the Utilita Bowl, the gates open two hours before the scheduled start of play, and hospitality opens with them. At the Ashes Test, play is scheduled to start at 11am. Hospitality suites close one hour after play ends for the day, or one hour after play is abandoned, so a day cut short by rain also ends early in hospitality.

Accessibility, parking and digital ticket entry at the ground are covered in the Utilita Bowl venue guide.
