Why are there extra Deacon Blue dates in London and Glasgow?

Deacon Blue say demand is behind all three dates they added after announcing the Raintown tour in September 2026. A second night at the Eventim Apollo in London, on Sunday 24 October, and a second at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, on Saturday 30 October, were added "due to phenomenal demand", in the band's words. A third Glasgow show, on Sunday 31 October, followed "due to incredible demand".

That third Glasgow night had its own on-sale, a week after the rest of the tour, and it is now the final date of the whole run.

Which Deacon Blue nights suit client entertaining, and which suit friends?

Nine of the 18 Deacon Blue dates fall from Monday to Thursday, which makes them the natural choice for entertaining clients on a work night: Belfast, Dublin, Hull, Nottingham, Newcastle, Bournemouth, Birmingham, London on Monday 25 October and Aberdeen. The other nine, from Friday to Sunday, suit a night out with friends or family.

Four of those weekend dates are Sundays with a working Monday after them: Leeds on the 10th, Brighton on the 17th, London on the 24th and Glasgow on the 31st, the last night of the tour. The two Fridays, Manchester on 22 October and Glasgow on 29 October, work either way, as an end-of-week client evening or a group night out.

What hospitality does each venue on the Deacon Blue tour offer?

Each venue on this tour runs its own premium spaces, so Deacon Blue hospitality changes from city to city: private suites at the big arenas, a lounge pass at the Eventim Apollo, annual members' clubs in Dublin. Door times are from the venues' own event pages on 25 September 2026 and can change. Where a package includes alcohol, it is for over-18s only and ID may be requested.

Belfast, Wednesday 6 October (opening night)

The Belfast arena's Suite for a Night is exclusive hire of a 12 or 16 seat box with a private balcony and dedicated waiter service, and guests can stay up to an hour after the show. Its Shared Suites sell individual seats in a shared VIP space, and one lounge adds a private balcony view of the stage, a welcome drink and a two-course meal.

Dublin, Thursday 7 October

Deacon Blue's Dublin night is Thursday 7 October 2027 at 3Arena, beside the Luas Red Line stop The Point. The venue lists 6.30pm for the night and tells fans to check their ticket, since it is not given stage times until the day before a show or the day itself. Its premium clubs, the 1878 (up to eight guests) and the Studio (four), are annual memberships rather than one-night packages.

The venue does not permit wheelchair users on the standing floor during shows.

Liverpool, Saturday 9 October

M&S Bank Arena Liverpool hosts the tour's first date in Great Britain, on Saturday 9 October 2027, in the city where the band opened their 2025 arena tour on 19 September 2025. The arena's premium products include Premium Super Suites, Premium Suites, the Premium Live Lounge and the Skyline Experience. Leeds, Sunday 10 October

In Leeds, first direct bank arena hosts the first of the tour's four Sunday nights on 10 October 2027, with doors at 6pm and the show at 7pm. Its Deacon Blue page lists five upgrades for the night, among them the Suite Experience, which puts 16 guests in a private suite with a dedicated host, and Wine, Dine & Showtime, which includes a three-course meal.

The Elland Road park and ride does not run on Sundays, so drivers need another plan for this show. The first direct bank arena guide covers travel and the arena.

Hull, Tuesday 12 October

Tuesday 12 October 2027 at Connexin Live, Hull, is the band's fourth visit to the venue since 2021, after shows there in 2021, 2023 and 2025. The venue's premium range is built around lounges and balcony seats: The Lookout combines priority entry, dining and balcony seats with a private bar, The Lookout, Social offers early access and a private bar and lounge, and Live Lounge Luxe adds in-seat drinks service.

The venue takes group bookings for parties of more than six. For the band's 2025 show there, on Sunday 5 October, it listed hospitality doors at 6pm, half an hour before general admission.

Nottingham, Wednesday 13 October

Motorpoint Arena Nottingham's Executive Suites take 6 to 28 guests with a private balcony and a suite host, which suits a midweek client group on Wednesday 13 October 2027. Instead of a suite, guests can add a ticket upgrade: among them are the Green Room lounge and the Spotlight Bar and Restaurant, which serves a one or two-course meal with a welcome drink before the show. The venue says upgrade options vary by event.

For guests with access needs, Motorpoint Arena Nottingham says lifts serve every floor and its hospitality suites include accessible seating.

Newcastle, Thursday 14 October

Deacon Blue play Utilita Arena Newcastle on Thursday 14 October 2027, two years after their 2025 tour stopped there on Monday 6 October 2025. The arena sells a lounge upgrade with a welcome drink and a private bar, alongside private executive suites, and a lift from the accessible entrance serves the suites. In December 2025 the venue announced an investment programme that includes new premium lounges on a mezzanine floor and a dedicated VIP entrance. The structural work was due to start in 2026, with further improvements to follow in 2027, and the venue says it will keep the arena open while the work goes on. No opening date for the new lounges has been published.

Cardiff, Saturday 16 October

Utilita Arena Cardiff publishes both ends of the evening on Saturday 16 October 2027: doors at 6.30pm and an 11pm curfew. The Suite Experience is a shared suite for 1 to 18 guests with a two-course meal in the L2 Restaurant, an arrival drink and Level 1 balcony seats, and the venue says it is not currently wheelchair accessible.

The Energise Club on Level 1 holds 16 guests, or up to 25 for private hire, with its own bar and a host; seating inside the club is accessible, but seats on its Deck are not. A new arena is being built at Atlantic Wharf in Cardiff Bay and is due to open in 2028, after this date, so the Deacon Blue show is at the current Utilita Arena Cardiff.

Brighton, Sunday 17 October

The Brighton Centre show on Sunday 17 October 2027 is all seated, with doors at 6.30pm, and the band last played here on 20 September 2025. The venue also has VIP boxes. The bars take Visa and Mastercard only, with no cash and no American Express, and Brighton station is within a 10-minute walk.

Bournemouth, Tuesday 19 October

Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) stages Deacon Blue on Tuesday 19 October 2027 in Windsor Hall, the largest of its halls. The venue's own brasserie and bar takes pre-show dining bookings and advises booking ahead on show nights; it was remodelled in a refurbishment the BIC completed in November 2024.

Birmingham, Wednesday 20 October

Utilita Arena Birmingham hires private suites for up to 14 guests for a single event, and its four named premium lounges are the Acoustic Lounge, Electric Lounge, Remaster Lounge and Frequency Deck. For Wednesday 20 October 2027 the venue lists three premium upgrades: Premium Lounge Access, Premium Lounge & Drink and Premium Dine & Drink. Doors are at 6pm and the show at 7.30pm.

The West car park is kept for hospitality and pre-booked customers, and the venue asks premium guests to send dietary requirements to its premium team seven days before the event.

Manchester, Friday 22 October

Deacon Blue's only Manchester night, Friday 22 October 2027, is at Co-op Live, which holds 23,500 and is the UK's largest indoor arena. Among its premium spaces are The Club by Barclays, the Gallery Suites, Hideaway and Encore Restaurant. London, Sunday 24 and Monday 25 October

The Eventim Apollo is a Grade II* listed theatre that opened in 1932, so the two London nights, Sunday 24 and Monday 25 October 2027, are theatre scale rather than arena scale. The venue's own premium product is the Lounge Pass: a private lounge, a drink and fast-track entry, with one pass per event ticket. It also sells Premium Seat packages on select shows.

The lounge is 30 steps up from the main entrance, and doors are at 7pm both nights.

Aberdeen, Wednesday 27 October

The 14 on 1st suite at P&J Live takes up to 28 guests or sells single seats, and its private suites can be hired for one show at a time. The venue launched its Luxe Scot Lounge in September 2026, and its page for Deacon Blue on Wednesday 27 October 2027 lists a lounge upgrade with early access, fast-track entry and a drink on arrival.

Doors are at 6pm. Dyce station and Aberdeen International Airport are each 1.5 miles away.

Glasgow, Friday 29 to Sunday 31 October (final three nights)

Deacon Blue formed in Glasgow in 1985, and the city gets the last three nights of the tour: Friday 29, Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 October 2027 at the OVO Hydro, with doors at 6.30pm each night. The Hydro's Executive Suites seat parties of up to 16 on a private balcony, with a dedicated host, while the Terrace and the Nest sell premium seats by the ticket.

What is the difference between a VIP upgrade and hospitality?

On the Deacon Blue tour, many VIP upgrades sit on top of a concert ticket, while hospitality is a separate space with its own seats and service, such as a suite with a host. Those upgrades add lounge access, a drink or fast-track entry: at the Apollo in Hammersmith, you need one Lounge Pass for each event ticket.

At Co-op Live, the Co-op Backstage Club is an upgrade of that kind: it gives general-admission ticket holders early entry and a private bar, but the venue says it comes with no early access to the main floor. None of the inclusions the venue lists for the club involves meeting the band. Alcoholic drinks in any upgrade are for over-18s, and ID may be checked.

What happens on a Raintown night?

A Deacon Blue night on the Raintown tour opens with Raintown played in full, followed by a second set of songs from across the band's career. When the band's channels and the venue pages were checked on 25 September 2026, no stage time for the band, no interval and no support act had been published for 2027.

Raintown's 11 tracks include Dignity, voted Scotland's greatest song in a 2020 public vote, along with Loaded, When Will You (Make My Telephone Ring) and Chocolate Girl. The album was a slow burner that took until August 1988 to reach its UK peak of No. 14.

Leeds (doors 6pm, show 7pm) and Birmingham (doors 6pm, show 7.30pm) publish both a door time and a start time, and Co-op Live gives general doors at 6.30pm and a 7pm start for Manchester. Venue timings can change. Cardiff is the only venue whose Deacon Blue event page gives a curfew, 11pm, which helps when planning the journey home.

The nearest guide to the shape of an evening is the band's last arena tour. Connexin Live's running order for its Hull show on Sunday 5 October 2025 had a support act at 7.30pm, Deacon Blue on stage at 8.30pm and the show ending at about 10.30pm. The Raintown show is built differently, with the album in full and then a second set, so no 2027 timing follows from it.

Can you bring children to a Deacon Blue concert?

Children's entry to a Deacon Blue concert is set by each venue, and the rules on this tour range widely: Glasgow and Aberdeen admit over-8s only, while Bournemouth admits all ages to seated tickets. Every venue listed below requires younger teenagers to be with an adult. These are the venues' own rules for their Deacon Blue shows as published on 25 September 2026, and a venue can change them, so check yours before you travel.

• Glasgow, OVO Hydro: "Over 8s only" and "U16s with adult 18+", on all three nights.
• Aberdeen, P&J Live: "Over 8's Only. Under 16s to be accompanied by an adult (18+)".
• Dublin, 3Arena: "Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult".
• Leeds, first direct bank arena: under-14s must be with an adult aged 18 or over.
• Birmingham, Utilita Arena Birmingham: in the seats, under-14s must be with an adult aged 18 or over; on the standing floor, under-14s are not permitted and 14 and 15 year olds must be with an adult aged 18 or over.
• Brighton Centre, an all-seated show: "Under 14s must be accompanied by an adult".
• Bournemouth International Centre: "Standing: 12+, U14's must be accompanied by an adult. Seated: All ages, U14's must be accompanied by an adult".
