About
Formula 1 returns to Portugal in 2027, and we are taking guests to the Portuguese Grand Prix at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimão on a four-night tour, from Thursday 17 to Monday 21 June 2027. It is a beach break with a Grand Prix in the middle of it: four nights on the Algarve coast and three days at the track.
Formula 1 is back in Portugal
Formula 1 has agreed a two-year return to Portimão for 2027 and 2028, taking the slot left by the Dutch Grand Prix. The race weekend runs from Friday 18 to Sunday 20 June 2027, round 9 of 24, two weeks after Monaco and two weeks before Silverstone. Portimão last hosted Formula 1 in 2020 and 2021 under Covid crowd limits, so 2027 will be its first Grand Prix in front of a full house.
The four-night tour

Your seat in the Main Grandstand
The Main Grandstand sits directly opposite the pit lane and the starting grid, on the straight where the cars reach top speed before plunging downhill into Turn 1, the main overtaking spot. It is the only covered grandstand at Portimão, and because the circuit is built across the hills, the upper tier looks out over more than half of the lap.
Pestana Alvor Praia Beach & Golf Hotel
Your base is a five-star hotel on the cliffs above the beach at Alvor, three minutes from the sand. Every room has a balcony, and there are indoor and outdoor pools, a full-service spa, two restaurants and a bar, with the village of Alvor a short walk away and Pestana Alto Golf next door. The circuit is around twenty minutes from the hotel.
The weekend, day by day
- Thursday 17 June: fly to Faro, transfer to the hotel, check in and join the welcome hospitality evening
- Friday 18 June: a free day in the Algarve, on the beach, by the pool or on the golf course
- Saturday 19 June: transfer to the circuit for final practice and qualifying, then a free evening
- Sunday 20 June: race day in the Main Grandstand, with return circuit transfers
- Monday 21 June: check out and transfer to Faro for the flight home
Add-ons
Two extras sit on top of the tour. The Golf Day on Friday 18 June is 18 holes at Pestana Alto Golf, five minutes from the hotel, with a buggy, club hire and hotel transfers included. Champions Club adds all-day VIP lounge access at the circuit from Friday to Sunday, with an open bar, a gastronomic dinner, a special guest appearance, a guided paddock tour and an F1 trophy photo.
