About ABBA

Who are ABBA?

ABBA are the Swedish pop group of Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad, who won the Eurovision Song Contest for Sweden with "Waterloo" in 1974. The Official Charts Company credits them with nine UK Number 1 singles and ten UK Number 1 albums, and the albums spent 58 weeks at the top between them. In London today, digital avatars of the four perform in ABBA Voyage with a live ten-piece band.

Well-known songs such as "SOS" and "Chiquitita" are not among the nine UK Number 1 singles, which run from "Waterloo" to "Super Trouper" in 1980. Fans know Anni-Frid Lyngstad as Frida.

Royal Order of Vasa, 2024

King Carl XVI Gustaf, with Queen Silvia, made all four members Commanders First Class of the Royal Order of Vasa at the Royal Palace in Stockholm on 31 May 2024. It is the order's second-highest rank, announced on 21 March 2024, and these were its first awards in about 50 years.

In July 2021, ABBA Gold became the first album to spend 1,000 weeks on the Official Albums Chart Top 100; it is the UK's second best-selling album of all time.

Are ABBA touring, and how can you see them now?

The way to see ABBA today is ABBA Voyage at ABBA Arena, in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Stratford, east London. Digital avatars of the four members perform with a live ten-piece band for about 100 minutes, with no interval, and booking currently runs to 28 June 2027. As of 29 September 2026, no ABBA tour or live reunion has been announced.

The four members are not on stage at ABBA Voyage. It has been seen by more than 4 million people since May 2022 and runs seven concerts a week, including weekend matinees, in a 3,000-capacity arena. Hospitality & Private Box Information

ABBA Voyage has three ways to watch, plus a pre-concert lounge:

  • Seated: a reserved seat in the auditorium, and guests may stand and dance at their seats.
  • Dance Floor: general-admission standing close to the stage and the live band, recommended for ages 12 and over.
  • Dance Booths: eight booths beside the Dance Floor, each for 10 to 12 guests, with a seating area, private dance space and a dedicated bar, staffed throughout the concert. The operator describes each booth as semi-private.
  • Oceanbird Lounge: a pre-concert upgrade on the main concourse rather than a seat, opening about 1 hour 45 minutes before the concert with unlimited drinks and closing during the show. It needs a ticket for the same performance.

Alcohol is for over-18s only, and Challenge 25 applies to every alcohol sale at the arena, so anyone who looks under 25 may be asked for photo ID. The ABBA Voyage hospitality guide compares these options for groups, where to sit at ABBA Voyage explains the arena layout, and the ABBA Arena guide covers travel.
