Grand Slam of Darts 2026 Wolverhampton: Dates and Hospitality

The Grand Slam of Darts returns to WV Active Aldersley in Wolverhampton from 14 to 22 November 2026. The tournament will celebrate its 20th staging with an expanded 48-player field and a £1 million prize fund.

Here are the confirmed dates, format, players, ticket situation and hospitality options for attending the Grand Slam of Darts 2026.

Grand Slam of Darts 2026 dates and venue

The Grand Slam of Darts 2026 runs from Saturday 14 to Sunday 22 November 2026 at WV Active Aldersley in Wolverhampton, the venue previously known as Aldersley Leisure Village. That is nine days of darts across afternoon and evening sessions, building from the group stage to the closing weekend.

The tournament has been staged in Wolverhampton in every year since it began in 2007 except 2020, when it moved to Coventry Arena, running at Wolverhampton Civic Hall first and at Aldersley since 2018. The PDC has not yet published a session-by-session schedule for 2026.

Who has qualified for the Grand Slam of Darts 2026?

Finalists from PDC televised events across a 12-month qualification window take up to 24 of the 48 places. Protected places go to youth, women’s and regional champions, and a one-day PDC Tour Card Holder Qualifier fills the rest. Five players had secured their places when the criteria were confirmed.

• Luke Littler, 2025/26 World Championship winner and back-to-back Grand Slam champion
• Gian van Veen, 2025/26 PDC World Championship runner-up
• Luke Humphries, 2025 Grand Slam of Darts runner-up
• Nathan Aspinall, 2025 Players Championship Finals runner-up
• Beau Greaves, 2025 World Youth Championship runner-up, making a fourth consecutive Grand Slam appearance

The remaining places fill up as PDC majors are played through 2026, so the full 48-player field will not be known until the Tour Card Holder Qualifier has been completed. Check the PDC’s own announcements for the latest list before booking travel around a particular player.

How will the new 48-player format work?

The group stage becomes 16 groups of three players, replacing the 8 groups of four used while the field stood at 32. No previous edition has gone beyond 32 players, so 2026 brings the largest field in the tournament’s history. Knockout rounds follow the groups and build to the final on Sunday 22 November. The PDC has confirmed the 16-groups-of-three structure but has not yet published how many players progress from each group.

How much prize money is at the Grand Slam of Darts 2026?

The total prize fund is £1 million and the winner receives £200,000, along with the Eric Bristow Trophy. Both figures are set by the PDC as tournament prize money. They are not hospitality prices and have no bearing on what it costs to attend.

Are Grand Slam of Darts 2026 tickets available?

General sale has been replaced by a public ballot. The PDC introduced the ballot for 2026 after recent editions sold out quickly. It opened on 10 June and closed on 15 June 2026, with results emailed to entrants the following week, so the public ballot is no longer open. Is Grand Slam of Darts hospitality available?

The questions we get asked most, answered honestly while the tournament is still in this window:

• What might be available? Darts hospitality at this level usually means a reserved table close to the stage, food and drinks served through the session, and a host looking after the table. Nothing specific is confirmed for the 2026 Grand Slam.
• Can corporate groups attend? Yes. The Grand Slam is one of the most popular dates of the darts year for company groups and client entertaining, which is exactly why places go quickly.
• Are afternoon and evening sessions both available? The tournament runs both across its nine days. Which sessions get released, and in what form, is not confirmed for 2026.
• Is there a minimum group size? No minimum has been set, because nothing has been released yet. Table sizes usually decide this, and we will confirm it if packages come through.
• Is the button an enquiry or a notification? It is a notification. You are joining a waiting list rather than enquiring about a package, and nobody will call to sell you something that does not exist yet.

Which sessions are best for corporate groups?

It depends what the day is for. Group-stage afternoons early in the nine days are the calmest and the easiest to talk across a table, which suits a client day where the conversation matters as much as the darts. Evening sessions are louder and busier, and the closing weekend carries the knockout rounds and the final, which is the day most people picture when they think of the Grand Slam.

How to get to WV Active Aldersley

The venue is on Aldersley Road, Wolverhampton WV6 9NW, around two and a half miles north west of Wolverhampton city centre.

• By train: Wolverhampton station is about 2.4 miles away and Codsall about 2.1 miles. Both need a short taxi or bus to finish the journey.
• By bus: the Aldersley Stadium stop is around a three-minute walk from the entrance, served by the 6 and 6A.
• By car: there are more than 300 on-site parking spaces. Parking is free Monday to Friday, and event parking at weekends can be chargeable, so check before travelling.
• Coaches and taxis: the site handles drop-offs well, and a pre-booked return is worth arranging for evening sessions, when local taxis get busy the moment a session ends.

Where to stay in Wolverhampton

Most visitors stay in Wolverhampton city centre, which puts you close to the railway station and a short taxi ride from Aldersley. Hotel stock is concentrated around the centre and the ring road, and it thins out quickly during Grand Slam week, so book early if you want to walk back into town after an evening session.

Birmingham is roughly 20 minutes away by train and offers a much wider choice of hotels and restaurants if the Wolverhampton options have gone. That works well for a group that wants a proper evening either side of the darts, provided you plan the last train back.

What to expect at the Grand Slam of Darts

The Grand Slam has an atmosphere that surprises people who have only watched it on television. Walk-ons are loud, the crowd sings between legs, fancy dress is normal rather than unusual, and the room stays warm and noisy for the whole session. It is closer to a night out than a spectator sport, which is a large part of why it works for groups.
