About
Canelo vs Sheeraz hospitality depends on one thing first: the fight being made. As of 1 November 2026, Canelo Alvarez vs Hamzah Sheeraz has not been announced, and there is no date, venue, broadcaster or contract. Canelo beat Christian Mbilli by unanimous decision in Riyadh on Saturday 31 October 2026 to win back the WBC super middleweight title, and Sheeraz, who watched from ringside, has been reported by The National as the most likely next opponent and by Forbes as the most logical. Below is what has been said so far, and how to register your interest with Prestige Corporate Events.
Where things stand after Canelo vs Mbilli
Canelo took the WBC title from Mbilli on a DAZN pay-per-view card in Riyadh, ESPN reported. It was his first fight since he lost the undisputed super middleweight title to Terence Crawford on points in Las Vegas on 13 September 2025. Mbilli had been unbeaten at 29-0-1 and was making the first defence of the WBC title he was elevated to in January 2026, so this was his first professional defeat. Sheeraz, who said in July that he would be ringside, was there, The National reported. After the fight Canelo said: “And right now I'm going to be a couple of weeks off and then come back.”
Sheeraz is unbeaten at 24-0-1, but he no longer holds a world title. He gave up the WBO super middleweight belt on 18 September 2026 rather than face his mandatory challenger, Janibek Alimkhanuly. In May, on the Mr Verzace Podcast, Canelo said he would decide on his next step “after my fight”. That fight has now taken place, and no decision has been announced.
What has been said about Canelo vs Sheeraz
The fight has been discussed for more than a year. These are the main public statements, in order.
- June 2025: Turki Alalshikh told The Ring that Canelo's opponent after Crawford would be “one of the two options, Sheeraz or Eubank.”
- July 2025: after Sheeraz knocked out Edgar Berlanga in New York, Dan Rafael reported that Alalshikh had promised Sheeraz a 2026 fight with Canelo.
- October 2025: Frank Warren, whose Queensberry promotes Sheeraz, told The Ring that a planned February 2026 date was in doubt after Canelo lost to Crawford and had elbow surgery. “I don't know what we will do now,” he said.
- January 2026: Warren told Box Nation: “I would make him and Canelo tomorrow, if they would stand for it.”
- May 2026: Canelo watched from ringside as Sheeraz won the WBO title in Giza, then said Sheeraz and IBF champion Osleys Iglesias “need to fight each other and then I fight the winner.”
- June 2026: asked about fighting Sheeraz in England, Canelo told reporters: “Yeah, we'll see after. Why not?”
- September 2026: Sheeraz told Big Fight Weekend: “If the fight happens, it happens. If it doesn't, it doesn't.”
- 31 October 2026: Sheeraz was ringside in Riyadh as Canelo beat Mbilli. The National reported the next day that he “would appear to be the most likely opponent”.
Our blog on Canelo's next fight and the Sheeraz talk covers each of these in more detail.
What the 31 October result means
Canelo's win over Mbilli makes him WBC champion again, free to choose his next opponent. These are the main points as they stand on 1 November 2026.
- Other titleholders are in the frame. The IBF champion Osleys Iglesias said before the fight that he wanted the winner, and Jaime Munguia kept the WBA title against Nikita Zon on the same card, ESPN reported. As Sheeraz holds no belt, a fight with him would not be a unification.
- The National's list of possible opponents on 1 November put Sheeraz first, then the WBC interim champion Lester Martinez, the winner of Jacob Bank vs Janibek Alimkhanuly for the vacant WBO title in January, Iglesias, and Terence Crawford, who announced his retirement after beating Canelo.
- No promoter has announced a date, venue or broadcaster for Canelo's next fight.
When a date and venue are announced, they will be added here.
Hamzah Sheeraz
Sheeraz was born in Slough, Berkshire, on 25 May 1999, and has been promoted by Queensberry since turning professional in 2017. He is 24-0-1 with 19 knockouts and stands 6ft 3in, against Canelo's 5ft 7½in. His run at super middleweight began with a fifth-round knockout of Edgar Berlanga at Louis Armstrong Stadium, New York, on 12 July 2025. He won the vacant WBO title by knocking out Alem Begic in the second round in Giza on 23 May 2026, and defended it with a majority decision over Simon Zachenhuber at the Jeddah Superdome on 25 July 2026. His one draw came against Carlos Adames for the WBC middleweight title in Riyadh in February 2025.
Canelo Alvarez
Canelo, 36, from Guadalajara, is 64-3-2 with 39 knockouts after beating Mbilli, according to ESPN. He has won world titles in four weight classes, became the first undisputed super middleweight champion in history in 2021, and won back the WBC super middleweight title on 31 October 2026. He signed a four-fight deal with Riyadh Season in February 2025 and beat William Scull in Riyadh that May. His British opponents since 2016 include Amir Khan, Callum Smith, Billy Joe Saunders and John Ryder.
Where could Canelo vs Sheeraz take place?
No venue or city has been named. Canelo said “why not?” when asked about England in June 2026, but no promoter has proposed a UK date. Sheeraz's last four fights took place in Riyadh, New York, Giza and Jeddah, and both men have boxed on Riyadh Season cards, including Canelo's win over Mbilli in Riyadh on 31 October. Until a promoter announces a venue, none is listed here.
Hospitality at a world title fight
For a world title fight at a major arena or stadium, a hospitality evening is usually built around reserved seating, food and drink in a lounge or restaurant area before the main event, and timings planned around a late ring walk. The options for Canelo vs Sheeraz will depend on the venue, so they will be added here once a venue is confirmed.
