James Blunt brings the Airplane Mode Tour to OVO Hydro, Glasgow, on Friday 2 April 2027. For that night the venue has two premium seating products: The Terrace on Level 2 and, a floor above it, The Nest on Level 3.

The tour is named for Airplane Mode, his eighth studio album, out on Atlantic Records on Friday 6 November 2026, and Glasgow is its only Scottish date.

What premium seating does OVO Hydro offer for James Blunt?

OVO Hydro has two premium seating products for James Blunt on Friday 2 April 2027, and both include fast-track arena entry. The Terrace puts guests in reserved seats at the front of Level 2, with in-seat service. The Nest, a floor up on Level 3, adds the venue's premium lounges before and after the show to its reserved seats.

The Terrace (Level 2)

The Terrace gives each guest a reserved, raised bar-stool-style seat at the front of Level 2 with a drinks ledge, fast-track arena entry through the Hydro Club entrance and a complimentary welcome drink on arrival. The venue's event page also lists an in-seat food and drinks service and an in-seat merchandise delivery service. Each order after that welcome drink is paid for on the night. At OVO Hydro, alcoholic drinks go to over-18s only, and staff may ask for ID.

The Nest (Level 3)

Guests in The Nest get fast-track arena entry, private, reserved seats and access before and after the show to the venue's premium lounges, the Capital Starsuite and the Clubhouse.

The Terrace suits a group that wants its orders brought to its seats; The Nest suits guests who want lounge time before and after the show.

What time does James Blunt's Glasgow show start?

Doors open at 6.30pm for James Blunt at OVO Hydro on Friday 2 April 2027, and that is the only time published so far. The event page lists the show times as to be announced, and Glasgow show times are usually confirmed two to three days before the night. No running time has been published for the 2027 tour, and no support act had been named for any UK date as of 15 October 2026.

What kind of show does James Blunt put on?

Going by reviews of his 2025 UK arena shows, a James Blunt show is a nostalgic singalong with jokes between songs. At those February 2025 shows, on the Back to Bedlam 20th Anniversary Tour, he played his debut album Back to Bedlam in full and in order, then later hits, as he had said beforehand he would: the album "from start to finish", followed by better-known songs from later albums.

Reviewers wrote about a crowd that knew the songs twenty years on and was in full voice by the fourth track. One review has him joking between songs, including at the partners who had been brought along, and singles out quieter moments, such as "Goodbye My Lover" played as a piano solo and an understated "No Bravery". That night ended with an encore of "Bonfire Heart" and "1973".

No 2027 set list has been published. The tour, which opens on 17 February 2027, is in support of the new album: its first single, "Tastes Like Summer", came out in August 2026, and "Weight Of It All" was released on 3 September 2026.

How do you get to OVO Hydro?

Exhibition Centre is the station for OVO Hydro, formerly the SSE Hydro, which sits on the Scottish Event Campus. Trains run there from Glasgow Central's low-level Platform 17, about six an hour, and the venue puts the ride at three minutes. From the station a covered walkway leads onto the campus. The show falls on a Friday night, and the venue lists no last-train times, so check your return journey before setting off.

For drivers, the multi-storey car park connects to the campus by a 59-metre accessible walkway. Blue badge bays, on levels 0 to 4, cannot be reserved.

Who can go: age rules and accessibility

For the Glasgow show, under-16s must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over, according to OVO Hydro's event page for 2 April 2027. With each accessible ticket bought, the venue gives one free carer or companion ticket. There are two Changing Places facilities on the campus: one on Level 2 of the arena, reached by the concourse lifts, and one inside the SEC Centre East entrance.

Wheelchair users have dedicated viewing platforms near concourse exits and accessible toilets, and hearing support includes infra-red systems on Level 2 depending on the production. Reaching The Terrace or The Nest means using stairs, which the venue notes may not suit every access need. Items needed for medical reasons are allowed if they are sealed and declared to stewards on entry; any such bottles must be 500ml or smaller, with no more than two per person and no glass or cans.

On either side of Glasgow, James Blunt plays the Belfast arena, formerly The SSE Arena, on Wednesday 31 March 2027 and Co-op Live in Manchester the night after Glasgow, on Saturday 3 April. The UK leg of the Airplane Mode Tour opens in Leeds on Friday 26 March, and the Brighton Centre on Thursday 8 April is the final night of the whole tour.
