In December 2025 Legends Global, which operates Utilita Arena Newcastle, announced an upgrade programme: premium lounges on a new mezzanine floor, a dedicated VIP entrance, a targeted 20% increase in capacity, and work on every space from the artist dressing rooms to the concourse bars, plus better acoustics and faster service. Structural work is planned to begin in 2026, with more improvements in 2027, and the arena is to stay open throughout.

As of September 2026 the venue had published no opening date for the new lounges or the VIP entrance, so do not plan a night around them until it does.
