Who is Teddy Swims?

Teddy Swims is the stage name of the American singer-songwriter Jaten Collin Dimsdale, and in April 2027 he plays nine UK arena nights across Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester and London. He has three UK top ten singles, and Official Charts describes his music as blending R&B and country. He was born on 25 September 1992 in Conyers, Georgia, and came to attention through covers posted to YouTube.

His UK chart record is worth stating precisely. Teddy Swims has three UK top ten singles, no UK number one single and no UK number one album, and his highest position on either chart is number 2: "Lose Control" peaked at number 2 on the Official Singles Chart, and the album I've Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 2) reached number 2 after entering on 6 February 2025. Descriptions of him as chart-topping miss by one place on both charts.

He signed to Warner Records, on a single account of that signing rather than a label announcement. Before the solo records he sang in two bands, WildHeart and Elefvnts, and released three EPs, Unlearning in 2021 and Tough Love and Sleep Is Exhausting in 2022. The two studio albums followed, I've Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 1) in 2023 and (Part 2) in 2025, and two further singles have come since, "Mr. Know It All" and the 2026 song "Break Up in Reverse".

What has he achieved?

Teddy Swims is a GRAMMY-nominated artist with two nominations and no win. Official Charts confirmed "Lose Control" as the fourth biggest UK single of 2024 and the most-downloaded UK track of that year.

The two GRAMMY nominations are Best New Artist at the 67th Annual GRAMMY Awards in 2025, and Best Pop Vocal Album for I've Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 2) at the 68th in 2026. The Recording Academy's own count on his artist page reads two nominations and no win, so the correct description is GRAMMY-nominated.

Five UK singles peaks are settled: "Lose Control" at 2, "The Door" at 5, "Bad Dreams" at 6, "Gone Gone Gone" at 47 and "Mr. Know It All" at 54. Three of those are top ten hits and three are top forty hits. On the albums chart there are three entries: Part 1 peaked at 12 and has spent 77 weeks on the chart since entering on 18 January 2024, Part 2 peaked at 2 with 17 weeks since 6 February 2025, and the combined edition peaked at 13 with 62 weeks since 10 July 2025.

What is his live show like?

Teddy Swims performs with his band on stage, not to backing tracks, on a deliberately plain set: bold lighting striking down, a raised platform in the centre of the stage that the band occupy, a gold-plated microphone, and a mic stand covered in slogans and graffiti. The one headline show this page timed ran about 90 minutes with more than 20 songs. The draw is the voice, not the production.

The shape of the set is consistent. Across the 26 shows counted from the 2026 summer run, "The Door" opened 25 of them and "Lose Control" closed 25 of them. Three covers are part of the furniture: "Jump" by Van Halen, "Somethin' 'Bout a Woman" by Thomas Rhett and "All That Really Matters" by ILLENIUM. Neither of the two documented 2026 set lists carries an encore, and that is our own read of those two set lists rather than a tour-wide count.

It is an emotionally direct room. At Scarborough, during "Simple Things", he spoke about a friend who had recently died and asked the crowd to check on the people they love. At Powderham he addressed the male suicide crisis and told the audience to check in on each other. He also signs items passed up from the audience mid-show, which is why the front of the floor matters to this audience in a way it does not at a seated orchestral night.

Scarborough is also the clearest measure of the demand. The open-air show there in July 2026 drew roughly 8,000 people and a second night was added. The same pattern has now repeated across the UK arena run.

Where does Teddy Swims play in the UK in 2027?

Nine UK nights across four cities, all in April 2027, on the run the Glasgow venue's own event page calls The Ugly Tour. The UK leg was announced with four UK dates on 24 July 2026 and has grown three times since, most recently in late August 2026.

What does arena hospitality involve at a Teddy Swims show?

Arena hospitality at a Teddy Swims night is a hosted evening rather than an upgraded ticket. The usual shape is dining before the show, a drinks service, a reserved seat in the bowl and a host looking after the group, with the exact mix set by the venue and the night. Timings run early at Utilita Arena Birmingham: the venue publishes doors at 18:30 and an on-stage time of 19:30. Neither of the two documented 2026 set lists carries an encore, on our own read of those two, so plan the end of the evening around the last song rather than a return.

Who does it suit?

It suits a small client group, a team reward or a family night where the meal and the music happen in one place and the evening does not run late. It is a voice-and-band show with spoken moments about grief and about male suicide, so it is a warmer room than a spectacle-driven arena tour. It is not the night for a group who want music in the background to talk over.

How is premium seating different from the artist's own VIP packages?

The two share a label and are not the same product. The VIP tiers sold through Teddy Swims' own channels are merchandise and access products: early entry, a premium seating or standing ticket, and items to take home. They contain no meal, no drinks, no lounge, no host and no parking, and there is no meet and greet in any of them.

Venue hospitality is the other shape: a room, a table, a seat in a premium category, and someone hosting the group through the evening. Neither is better than the other. They answer different questions, and the choice comes down to what the night is for: the merchandise, or the people you bring with you.
