Glastonbury 2027 headliners: Will Eminem perform?

Glastonbury returns to Worthy Farm from Wednesday 23 June to Sunday 27 June 2027, and all three Pyramid Stage headliners are already signed. Emily Eavis said so on the BBC in August 2026. She has not said who they are, and as of 5 October 2026 not a single act had been announced.

So every line-up story you read right now, this one included, is a mix of evidence and guesswork. Eavis put it more bluntly: "Pretty much 95 per cent of the stories you read are not true, and rumours are pretty much always wrong."

What follows keeps the two apart. First what the festival has actually said, then the names being tipped and who is tipping them, then the artist who keeps turning up in Glastonbury gossip without ever turning up at Glastonbury. Eminem.

Is Glastonbury on in 2026?

No. 2026 is a fallow year, the festival's planned break to rest the land, the village of Pilton and the crews who build the site. Eavis flagged it as early as June 2024 ("We are due a fallow year") and the 2027 dates were confirmed in September 2025.

The last planned fallow year was 2018. The 2020 and 2021 festivals were cancelled because of Covid.

Glastonbury 2027 dates

Wednesday 23 June to Sunday 27 June 2027, at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset. The Pyramid Stage headline nights fall on Friday 25, Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 June.

What Emily Eavis has confirmed about the 2027 headliners

Three things, all from a BBC interview in August 2026, reported by Radio X on 17 August.

• The headliners are done: "We have got three headliners and we're very excited about it."
• One name is out: "No, it's definitely not Madonna, I'll tell you that."
• Asked about Taylor Swift, she laughed and said nothing at all.

A month later she shut another door. Under a post on the festival's Instagram, a fan wrote "Please say you've got Oasis." Eavis replied: "sorry Jimmy, not this time!" Oasis play 11 nights at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester between 4 and 26 June 2027 instead, as part of their Oasis Live '27 dates.

Glastonbury 2027 headliner rumours: the names being tipped

None of the names below is confirmed. Each is here because a bookmaker, a newspaper or a trade title put it in print during 2026.

Harry Styles has the most circumstantial evidence behind him. When his 2027 Together, Together tour dates were published, Music Week noted on 10 September 2026 that "there are no dates across Glastonbury weekend, where he is rumoured to be a potential performer." A gap in a tour diary is not a contract. It is, though, exactly the kind of gap people notice. In July 2026 he shared top spot in a bookmaker's market for the Pyramid Stage headline slots.

Sam Fender, the North Shields songwriter, shared that top spot.

Taylor Swift is the one Eavis would not discuss. Asked directly, she laughed and moved on. Read into that whatever you like.

That list is long for a reason. With nothing announced, every major act without a date on the last weekend of June 2027 ends up on it.

Could Eminem play Glastonbury 2027?

Possibly. That is as far as the evidence goes, and here is all of it.

He is in the frame. A bookmaker's market for the 2027 Pyramid Stage headliners, published on 8 July 2026, put Eminem among its leading names, level with Rihanna, Beyoncé and Taylor Swift.

He is performing again, and he has a taste for the unannounced. In June 2024 he walked out at the reopening of Michigan Central Station in Detroit and gave "Houdini" its first live outing. On 11 July 2026, Jay-Z brought him out at Yankee Stadium in New York during the Blueprint 25th anniversary shows. They performed "Renegade" together for the first time since 2010, and Eminem stayed on for "Lose Yourself". And Glastonbury has been linked with him for years. In October 2022, The Sun's Bizarre column claimed he was in talks to headline in 2023. In June 2024 the same column tipped him for 2025, adding that Emily Eavis had tried and failed to land him several times. Neither came true. The 2023 headliners were Arctic Monkeys, Guns N' Roses and Elton John. In 2025 they were The 1975, Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo.

The case against is shorter, and it carries more weight. We found no newspaper report or insider claim linking him to Glastonbury 2027 beyond the betting. He has not announced a 2027 tour. His live appearances since 2024 have been guest spots and one-off surprises, not festival headline sets. And two previous Glastonbury rumours about him came to nothing.

So the honest answer is that Eminem is a live possibility, not a lead. If his name is on the 2027 poster, it will be his Glastonbury debut, and the end of a chase that, by the tabloids' account, has been running since at least 2022.

Has Eminem ever played Glastonbury?

Not as far as any record shows. When Radio X reported the 2023 rumour, it said a Pyramid Stage set "will be the first time he has ever played at the festival", and nothing since has changed that. In the UK festival world he is a Reading and Leeds name: he headlined both in August 2017.

Hip-hop on the Pyramid Stage

If Eminem does headline, he will not be breaking new ground for the festival, and that is the point. The argument about whether rap belongs on the Pyramid Stage was had in 2008, when Jay-Z became its first hip-hop headliner. Noel Gallagher said publicly that it was wrong. Jay-Z answered by opening his set with "Wonderwall".

Since then: Stormzy headlined on Friday 28 June 2019, the first Black British solo artist to do so, and brought out Chris Martin and Dave. Kendrick Lamar closed the Pyramid Stage on Sunday 26 June 2022. A hip-hop headliner in 2027 would be a programming choice, not a statement.

The Glastonbury Legends slot: past acts and 2027 talk

The Legends slot is the Sunday teatime set on the Pyramid Stage, given to an artist with decades of hits behind them. The last three:

• 2023: Yusuf / Cat Stevens
• 2024: Shania Twain
• 2025: Rod Stewart, who had headlined the festival in 2002

The 2027 Legends act has not been announced. The name most often floated in 2026 press speculation is Robbie Williams. Nothing links him to it beyond that speculation.

Glastonbury secret sets and surprise guests: what history tells us

Glastonbury rarely gives away its biggest moments in advance. Some of the best-remembered sets of the last 15 years were billed under a fake name, a TBA slot or nothing at all.

• 2011: Radiohead and Pulp both played unannounced sets on the Park Stage.
• 2017: The Killers walked on at the John Peel Stage to "Teenage Kicks".
• 2022: Paul McCartney's Saturday headline set brought out Dave Grohl and Bruce Springsteen.
• 2023: "The Churnups", a mystery name on the line-up poster, turned out to be Foo Fighters, playing the Pyramid Stage on the Friday evening.
• 2025: "Patchwork" turned out to be Pulp, on the Pyramid Stage on the Saturday. Lewis Capaldi, Haim and Lorde also played TBA slots that weekend.

That history matters for the Eminem question. His most recent big-stage appearance, at Yankee Stadium in July 2026, was a guest spot inside someone else's headline set. Glastonbury has a long habit of exactly that kind of moment. Whether one is coming in 2027, nobody outside Worthy Farm knows.

When will the Glastonbury 2027 line-up be announced?

The festival has not given a date. As of early October 2026 no act had been confirmed, and Eavis had said only that the headliners were in place.

Until the poster lands, the only certain names are the ones Emily Eavis has already crossed off.
