Madonna has not announced any UK shows for 2027, but she has dropped a very loud hint. On her BBC One special with Graham Norton in June 2026 she said she would do promo tours first and then, "in the summertime, something bigger." Asked if that would be in this country, she said "It could be" and refused to say more. Since then Glastonbury has ruled her out, and a tabloid report has put her in Hyde Park instead. As of 2 November 2026 nothing is confirmed. Here is what she actually said, what has been ruled in and out, and where in Britain a big Madonna summer could land.

Last updated: 2 November 2026.

The Queen of Pop sat down with Graham Norton, teased a summer project, refused to say where it was, and walked off leaving the whole of British music press guessing. The Glastonbury headlines followed fast, for a festival she was not even booked for. Within two months the festival's own organiser had gone on national radio to say "it's definitely not Madonna." And somewhere in between, a three-night Hyde Park story appeared. Classic Madonna: say almost nothing and let everyone else do the talking.

What Madonna said about 'something bigger'

The special, Madonna & Graham, went out on BBC One at 10.40pm on 26 June 2026, a week before her new album arrived, according to Attitude. Talking about what comes after the record, she told Norton, in the words HuffPost UK reported on 17 August: "I think I'll do promo tours for a while. Then, in the summertime, something bigger."

Norton did what any of us would have done and asked whether that meant Britain. Her answer, as HuffPost UK reported it: "It could be. Why do I have to tell you everything?" Far Out Magazine reported the second half slightly differently, as "Why do you have to know everything?", so the exact wording depends on which outlet you read. The meaning is the same either way. Not a yes, very much not a no.

She did not stop there. Far Out Magazine also quoted her telling Norton: "I've told you a lot of interesting things, that's what you get, and the rest you have to wait for." And then the line that sums up the whole saga: "I heard this phrase a long time ago that the definition of being an adult is the ability to delay gratification." Fans have been delaying gratification ever since.

Madonna 2027: what we know and what we don't

  • Said on the record: "something bigger" is planned for summer 2027, after a spell of promo tours.
  • Said on the record: asked if it would be in the UK, she said "It could be."
  • Ruled out: headlining Glastonbury 2027, by organiser Emily Eavis on BBC Radio 4 in August 2026.
  • Reported, not confirmed: three nights at BST Hyde Park in 2027, a single tabloid claim from The Sun.
  • Not announced: any 2027 date, city, venue or tour name.

Put the year in order and the story is easier to follow. Every step below happened in public, and none of them is a booking.

Confessions II: the album behind the summer plan

The "something bigger" has a reason to exist. Confessions on a Dance Floor: Part II, or Confessions II for short, came out on 3 July 2026 on Warner Records, according to Attitude and Mixmag. It is a sequel to her 2005 album Confessions on a Dance Floor, and Mixmag reported that she described it as going "back to where it all began."

Britain went for it. The Official Charts Company reported on 10 July 2026 that Confessions II went to number one, her 13th UK chart-topping album, and that it made her the "first US female artist to earn Number 1 albums across five decades." A week later, by the way, the Rolling Stones knocked her off with Foreign Tongues. Two of the biggest live acts of all time, both back at number one in the same July, both teasing 2027.

Her new era has thrown up a few surprises too. The video for "Bring Your Love", her duet with Sabrina Carpenter, sits on Madonna's own YouTube channel. Carpenter is another name being linked with big British dates next summer, as our piece on whether Sabrina Carpenter is planning a UK stadium tour explains.

Is Madonna headlining Glastonbury 2027?

No. This is the one part of the story with a clear answer. The day after the Norton special, the internet decided "something bigger" meant the Pyramid Stage. Glastonbury returns to Worthy Farm from 23 to 27 June 2027 after its 2026 fallow year, and a Madonna headline set would have been the story of the summer.

Emily Eavis shut it down on BBC Radio 4's PM programme in August. Far Out Magazine reported her words on 14 August 2026: "No, it's definitely not Madonna, I'll tell you that." She added: "But we have got three headliners and we're very excited about it, it's all coming together really well." She also warned that "rumours are pretty much always wrong."

HuffPost UK noted that when Eavis was asked about Taylor Swift, she laughed and changed the subject, which has sent a whole new rumour mill spinning. Our Glastonbury 2027 headliners piece goes through every name being tipped, our Glastonbury Festival hub covers the festival itself, and our Will Taylor Swift tour again? blog covers the Swift side of the gossip.

This is not the first time, either. Far Out Magazine pointed out that Madonna was rumoured for Glastonbury 2024 as well, and that year's headliners turned out to be Dua Lipa, SZA and Coldplay. Madonna has never headlined the Pyramid Stage. If you are planning around the festival anyway, our Glastonbury Festival 2027 page is where updates go.

The Hyde Park rumour: three nights at BST?

Here's where it gets juicy, and where you need to read the small print. In July 2026, The Sun reported that Madonna had "cooled on the idea" of Glastonbury and would instead play three nights at BST Hyde Park in 2027. HuffPost UK repeated the claim in August and was careful to pin it on The Sun rather than confirm it.

So let us be clear. This is a single tabloid report. Madonna has not confirmed it. BST Hyde Park has not confirmed it. Nobody has named a date. Treat it as gossip until it appears on a poster.

What we can tell you is what BST has confirmed. On 19 October 2026, Bon Jovi were announced as the first BST Hyde Park headliner for 2027, playing on Thursday 24 June 2027, as the Irish News reported. The festival said more acts would follow. So the 2027 poster is only just starting to fill, with plenty of space.

The Bon Jovi announcement tells you how BST likes to frame its big names. Jon Bon Jovi called it "a full circle moment to be returning to BST Hyde Park", and Jim King, the festival's boss, called the band "one of the defining rock bands of their generation", the Irish News reported. Legacy, history, a return to the park. Swap the names and that is exactly the pitch you would write for a Madonna run.

The 2026 series shows the range BST books. The Irish News listed Garth Brooks, Maroon 5, Mumford & Sons, Duran Duran and Lewis Capaldi among this year's acts. Over the years the park has also hosted the Rolling Stones, Celine Dion, Bruce Springsteen, Taylor Swift and Stevie Wonder. A Madonna summer would sit comfortably in that company, and three nights would put her alongside the acts BST has given more than one date.

Why Hyde Park makes sense for Madonna

Look at the calendar first. Glastonbury runs from 23 to 27 June 2027 and BST's first confirmed night is 24 June, so London's biggest park is already busy in the same week as Britain's biggest festival. An artist who wants a London summer stage without a festival line-up around her has an obvious option in BST, which runs across several weekends with one headliner per day.

Then look at her history. Hyde Park is where Madonna has played some of her biggest British shows, and it suits the way she likes to stage a big night.

There is a recent model for a multi-night BST stay, too. The Rolling Stones played two BST nights in 2013, on 6 and 13 July, and two more in 2022, on 25 June and 3 July, with a week or so between each pair. Spreading nights out like that lets a headliner stay in London for a fortnight rather than racing from city to city. If The Sun is right about three Madonna nights, a similar pattern across late June and July would be the natural way to do it, though nobody has said so.

Madonna in London: from Live 8 to the Celebration Tour

Live 8, Hyde Park, 2005

On 2 July 2005 Madonna played the London Live 8 concert in Hyde Park, running through "Like a Prayer", "Ray of Light" and "Music". Her own YouTube channel still carries the "Like a Prayer" performance from that day.

The MDNA Tour, 2012

Seven years later she was back with her own show. The MDNA Tour played Hyde Park on 17 July 2012 in front of 54,140 people, according to the tour's Wikipedia page, then went on to Birmingham on 19 July and Murrayfield in Edinburgh on 21 July, where 52,160 turned up.

Madame X at the London Palladium, 2020

Here's the bit people forget. Madonna has already done a London residency of sorts. The Madame X Tour was an all-theatre tour, and in early 2020 she played 12 nights at the London Palladium between 29 January and 16 February, with mobile phones and smart watches banned at the shows. Twelve nights in one West End theatre is a residency in everything but name. The phone ban made headlines of its own: no filming, no scrolling, just the show, which is about as old-school as a modern pop production gets. It also proved something useful for 2027. Madonna does not need to move every night to make an event of it. A London audience will come to her, night after night, if the show is special enough.

The Celebration Tour, 2023

Then came the big one. The Celebration Tour opened in London on 14 October 2023 at The Arena, London, with six London shows in all, according to the tour's Wikipedia page. It ended on 4 May 2024 with a free concert on Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro attended by "over 1.6 million people", and grossed 225.4 million US dollars according to Billboard, from a total attendance the tour page puts at 1.1 million. The London nights were not a warm-up act either: the tour page records that the first four London shows went so quickly that a fifth and then a sixth were added. Our guide to The Arena, London in 2027 covers that venue if her plans move indoors.

What could 'something bigger' be?

Nobody outside her team knows, so this section is our reasoning, not a leak. There are three shapes that fit what she has said and what she has done before.

A London summer run

The Sun's Hyde Park story is the version with a named place attached. Three nights in a London park would sit somewhere between her 2012 Hyde Park show and her 2020 Palladium run: a big outdoor stage, but the audience comes to her rather than the other way round. If it happens, BST's hospitality areas around the Great Oak Stage would be among the most wanted seats of the summer.

A stadium tour

"Something bigger" could just as easily mean stadiums. London's 2027 stadium season already includes U2 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Karol G and Fontaines D.C., all listed on our major UK stadium concerts page. Her last two tours played London in a theatre and an arena, so a stadium summer would be a real change of scale.

A residency somewhere in Europe

Residencies are having a moment in Europe. Celine Dion played 16 nights at one Paris arena between 12 September and 17 October 2026, and ten more dates there were added for May 2027, according to the residency's Wikipedia page. Our Celine Dion artist page has more on her story. Madonna has played Paris before, including on the Rebel Heart Tour in 2015, and she already proved with Madame X that she is happy to stay put in one venue for a long run. Her answer to Norton was "It could be" the UK, which leaves room for Britain to be one stop rather than the only one.

The other European template is even bigger. In August 2024 Adele played ten shows in Munich, between 2 and 31 August, at a temporary arena built on the Munich Messe fairgrounds just for her, with an authorised capacity of around 74,000 a night and more than 730,000 tickets sold in total, according to the residency's Wikipedia page. A pop star of Madonna's size could in theory do something similar. Nobody has suggested she is planning anything like it, but it shows how far the idea of "something bigger" can stretch.

Our read? The Hyde Park version has the most going for it: it matches her line to Norton about the summer, it matches her Hyde Park history, and BST's 2027 poster has plenty of room. But it rests on one tabloid report, and Eavis's warning about rumours applies to every festival, not just hers. Do not book flights on it.

When would Madonna's 2027 plans be announced?

She has not said. BST announced its first 2027 headliner, Bon Jovi, on 19 October 2026, more than eight months before the show, so if she is playing the park, an announcement over the winter would fit the way BST builds its line-up. Big outdoor runs are usually announced months ahead. That is our reading of how BST works, not inside information.

For a sense of how BST nights play out on the day, our piece on Lewis Capaldi at Hyde Park in 2026 runs through the setlist and the guests.

Madonna Hyde Park 2027 tickets: what to know now

Madonna has not announced any 2027 dates, so anyone claiming to know her plans is guessing. What you can do now is decide what kind of night you want if the Hyde Park story comes true. BST is a standing event in the main field, with a curfew at 10.30pm, so for a client group the choice is really about where you watch from and where you eat. That is why the hospitality areas matter more at BST than at most concerts.

Our BST Hyde Park hub explains how the series works and which areas sit closest to the stage, and our Hyde Park venue page has more on the park itself.

Madonna hospitality: what a big London night looks like

If Hyde Park is the answer, hospitality is a different world from the general field. BST guests can watch the Great Oak Stage from the Diamond Circle in front of the stage or from tiered grandstand seating, with garden bars and dining away from the main crowd. If it is a stadium, guests use dedicated lounges and bars inside the ground before taking their seats. Either way, the night starts long before Madonna does.

If the run does turn out to be several nights, that helps with planning. A group that cannot all make one date can be split across two, and a host can pick the night that suits the diary rather than the other way round. It is one of the quiet advantages of an artist staying in one city for a while.

For a client group, plan the evening around the show rather than squeezing the show into the evening. Our guide to corporate entertaining at a London concert has the practical side.

Our read: will Madonna play the UK in 2027?

Cards on the table. We think a British date in summer 2027 is more likely than not. She told the BBC that "something bigger" is coming next summer and refused to rule out the UK. Confessions II went to number one here. She opened her last tour in London. Glastonbury is off the table, which, if anything, makes a London show of her own more likely, not less.

What we cannot tell you is the format. The Sun says three nights at Hyde Park. Nothing confirmed backs that up yet. When there is news, it will be on our BST Hyde Park hub first. Register your interest there and our team will be in touch the moment Madonna's 2027 plans are confirmed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Madonna has hinted at a big summer 2027 project but announced nothing. On her BBC One special with Graham Norton, broadcast on 26 June 2026, she said she would do promo tours first and then, "in the summertime, something bigger." No dates, cities or venues had been confirmed by 2 November 2026.

Possibly. When Graham Norton asked if her "something bigger" would be in the UK, she replied "It could be," according to HuffPost UK. She opened her last tour, the Celebration Tour, in London in October 2023, and her album Confessions II went to number one in the UK in July 2026.

It has been reported but not confirmed. The Sun reported in July 2026 that she would play three nights at BST Hyde Park in 2027, a claim later repeated by HuffPost UK. The first BST 2027 headliner announced was Bon Jovi, on 24 June 2027.

Emily Eavis told BBC Radio 4's PM programme in August 2026: "No, it's definitely not Madonna, I'll tell you that." She said all three Glastonbury 2027 headliners are booked but would not name them. The festival runs from 23 to 27 June 2027.

Madonna last played Hyde Park on 17 July 2012 on the MDNA Tour, in front of 54,140 people. Before that she performed "Like a Prayer", "Ray of Light" and "Music" at Live 8 in Hyde Park on 2 July 2005.

Register your interest on our BST Hyde Park hub and our team will contact you as soon as any Madonna 2027 London date is confirmed, whether in the park or at a stadium. You can also call 0333 305 5377 to talk through group size and the kind of evening you have in mind.
